The Volcano has a 250
meters diameter crater and in the highest part there are several cracks result
from the latest eruption occurred in the year 1853. Also is possible to observe
smoke expulsing a phew quantity of gasses from the top.
The top of the volcano
offers one of the best views in the dry season, observe the landscape from the
higher parts is a big opportunity and the best
way to appreciate the volcanic
chain of Guatemala, contemplate the sunrise and the sunset is a picture that
you’ll not erase from your mind.
The difficulty degree
of climbing this volcano is from 1 and in some parts is 6.
This volcano is
suggested for people in a good physical condition (good shape).
There are two
different routes for to start climbing, the first one is for the people who are
looking for fun and full adrenaline, start walking from an altitude of 1600
meters above sea level.
The approximate time
of climbing back and forth is about 6 hours climbing and 3 hours getting down.
The second route is
the minor difficulty starts from an altitude of 2100 meters above sea
level.
